How long does it take you to find out whether last week’s ads actually made money? For most DTC founders the honest answer is somewhere between “end of the month” and “never.” We think that number should be closer to 60 seconds.

That is the onboarding experience we are designing AdMagic to deliver: connect your ad accounts and your store, and see your true contribution margin, not just your ROAS, in about a minute. To be clear up front, AdMagic is in active MVP development. What follows is the flow we are building toward, not a finished product with a stopwatch result attached.

Why “how long” is the real question

Most founders are not missing data. They are drowning in it. Ads Manager has one number. Shopify has another. The accountant has a third, usually six weeks late. Somewhere between those three tabs is the answer to the only question that matters: did this spend make us money?

The problem is that stitching those numbers together is slow, manual, and easy to get wrong. So it happens once a month, or once a quarter, or only when something already feels off. By then the budget is spent. We wrote about this gap in why marketing optimizes for ROAS while finance optimizes for profit, and time-to-answer is a big part of why that gap never closes.

If it takes three weeks to see your margin, you make three weeks of decisions blind. If it takes 60 seconds, you check it before you touch the budget.

What the 60-second flow is designed to look like

Here is the onboarding we are building. No spreadsheets, no CSV exports, no “send us your data and we’ll get back to you.”

  1. Connect your ad accounts. A standard OAuth sign-in, the same kind of “Log in with…” prompt you have clicked a hundred times. You approve read access, and you never paste a password into AdMagic.
  2. Connect your store. Same idea: OAuth into your commerce platform so orders, refunds, and product costs can flow in.
  3. See contribution margin. AdMagic’s Context Engine ties spend and clicks to what actually landed in the business after costs, so the first screen you see answers “did this make money?” rather than “did this get clicks?”

That is the whole point of the Context Engine: tie every dollar of ad spend to true net profit, not just ROAS. If you want the longer version of why that sync matters, read what happens when your ad platform and your P&L finally sync.

Why we are obsessing over the first minute

Because we have lived the alternative. Before AdMagic, our founders managed $4M+ in ad spend through their agency work. The pattern we saw again and again was not bad marketers. It was good marketers working from the wrong scoreboard, because the right one took too long to build.

A tool that shows you true margin eventually is a reporting tool. A tool that shows it in the first minute becomes the thing you check before every decision. That second one is what we want to build.

And speed is only the start. Once margin is visible, AdMagic’s AI CFO/CMO layer is designed to propose actions, each with a reason and an audit trail, and nothing executes until a human approves it. We explained that design choice in the AI agent proposes, you approve.

What we are not claiming

We are not going to show you a fake screenshot or a stopwatch video. The product is in MVP development, and we are building toward our first paying design partners around January 2027. The 60-second target is a design goal we are holding ourselves to, and founding waitlist members are the people who will help us prove it out on real ad accounts.

If you have ever waited weeks to learn that a “winning” campaign was quietly losing money, you already know why this matters.
